Instructor
Merit Badge, Aquatics & Sailing Instructors implement programs in conjunction with the Program Director and BSA program standards. An instructor serves with a major responsibility for customer service, classroom instruction, curriculum development and classroom behavior management. Needs to be enthusiastic, patient, creative, have a sense of humor and self-control. Ability to communicate with children, teens and parents is a must.
You must be 16 years old and certified in both First Aid and CPR when hired. Sailing Instructors note US Sailing Small Boat Level 1 Instructor certificate required and American Red Cross Lifeguard or BSA Lifeguard certifications recommended.
Counselor-In-Training
CITs implement programs in conjunction with the instructors. Responsible for customer service, class/activity assistance and classroom management. Must be certified in CPR and First Aid upon being hired. Needs to be enthusiastic, patient and helpful, have a sense of humor and self-control. Must adhere to National BSA aquatics policies, all state and local boating safety laws and environmental regulations. Must be able to swim. Must be at least 14 years old and be comfortable communicating with children, teens, and parents. Directly reports to Lead Instructors.
